Overview

Vision

The Research & Development Office at Saint Michael College envisions a community committed to addressing societal needs through high-quality, impactful research. Our aim is to contribute to national development by producing relevant and timely research outputs and disseminating them effectively.

Mission

Our mission is to:

  1. Undertake collaborative projects and studies that produce high-quality research and development outcomes in curriculum and instruction, services, and community extension.
  2. Promote research that aligns with the college’s mission and supports national and global development goals.

Research Agenda

Rationale

Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) are mandated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to perform the triad functions of instruction, research, and extension. The primary responsibility of HEIs is to advance knowledge through research that informs teaching practices, influences policy formulation, and contributes to community development.

The Research Agenda of SMCCI is designed to address institutional needs and community challenges while improving the policies, practices, and outcomes of the school. This agenda will serve as a strategic guide for all research-related activities within the SMCCI academic community, ensuring alignment with the institution’s mission and the broader goals of societal development.
